The Jorge Alio Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness was created in 1996 as a non-profit making private organization. We focus our efforts on the promotion of research, education, preventative medicine and the treatment of ocular diseases, paying special attention to the underprivileged groups of our society and those at risk of social exclusion, both on a national level and in international cooperation.

Our Foundation also promotes, encourages and develops cultural and social activities related to the Ophthalmic field, as well as the typical activities of an NGO for international development cooperation. Our mission is the prevention of blindness through solidarity, training, culture and innovation.

Innovation constitutes both our goal and method of improvement in search of excellence with our values of commitment: service to others, ethics and social responsibility
